Working for a large media organisation who's setting up a new consumer product innovations team, this role involves working closely with a Product Management group to deliver their roadmap of new online mass consumer initiatives in an Agile SCRUM environment, using a range of web technologies. The products this team produces will be used by millions of consumers globally.

The Senior Web Developer / Web Applications Developer / Web Technologist (LAMP, OOP, OOD, PHP, PHP5, CSS, Javascript, MySQL, Memcached) will deliver web applications, new products and technology solutions; create robust and scalable mass consumer applications; integrate systems with internal and third party applications; use innovative ideas and approaches to deliver technology solutions, often using new and unfamiliar technology; support the Product Innovation team with technical consultancy and advice; work with technical leads; architects and managers to implement the most appropriate technical solutions; create and maintain documentation for new or modified processes, web applications and products and generally ensure industry standards and quality processes are applied to new and modified software.

Candidates for the Senior Web Developer / Web Applications Developer / Web Technologist (LAMP, OOP, OOD, PHP, PHP5, CSS, Javascript, MySQL, Memcached) role may be front end or back end biased and must have broad web technology experience; be comfortable in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment and be confident learning new languages and tools and technologies to deliver solutions. Technical requirements are strong Object Oriented (OOP OOD) development experience, PHP5, CSS, Javascript, HTML and XML. There's a huge wish list of non-essential skills including Java, C, Ruby on Rails, experience using API's to integrate with third party systems, third party frameworks (such as JQuery, Dojo, Zend_Framework), MVC Design Pattern, good relational database design with any RDBMS (ideally MySQL), strong design experience and experience developing scalable high load or high transaction applications. You'll also be required to keep abreast of evolving technology to stay at the leading edge.
